How the Contact Marker Works

Three steps to a precise interproximal contact mark.

The WriteFit® Contact Marker is designed for the moment when a crown, onlay, bridge, or restoration will not fully seat because the proximal contact is tight. It gives you a visible graphite transfer at the exact high-contact point.

Step 1: Seat the restoration

Place the restoration as usual and confirm that the interproximal contact is tight. WriteFit fits into the existing crown-delivery sequence without changing your preparation, cementation, or adjustment materials.

Step 2: Mark the contact

Hold the instrument like a pen or explorer. Use the angled graphite tip to mark the proximal contact surface that needs analysis. The instrument is shaped for controlled access in anterior and posterior restorative cases.

Step 3: Reseat and read the transfer

Reseat the restoration. The graphite transfers at the actual point of binding, showing the precise area to adjust. Reduce the marked area, reseat, and verify the contact.

Best-use cases

  • Crown and bridge delivery
  • Onlay seating
  • Porcelain restoration contact adjustment
  • Adjacent-tooth contact analysis
  • Teaching a repeatable contact-adjustment workflow

Sterilization and refills

The stainless steel handle is designed for a reusable dental-instrument workflow. Follow your office sterilization protocol for reusable components and replace graphite tips when marking quality drops or your protocol calls for a fresh tip.
